PRP and Alopecia

Submitted by drgailhumble on July 5, 2013

It seems the list of applications for PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) just keeps growing. In addition to being used for injuries, skin rejuvenation and aesthetic enhancement, a recent study from France indicates that PRP can be effective in the treatment of thinning hair and pattern baldness, as well as a viable treatment for Alopecia.  Click here to read the article.  In addition, while researching this blog post, I ran across an interesting blog called “The Women’s Hair Loss Project”. It offers support, and hope for women who suffer from hair loss. It also includes many stories and experiences from women who are experiencing hair loss, their thoughts and feelings, and what they have done to treat their own hair loss. The blog can be viewed by clicking here.
