The Ancient Greeks believed that all beauty could be explained mathematically and to an extent, they were right. There is only one mathematical relationship consistently reported in all living things. This equation stems from the Fibonacci Series, a unique sequence of integers, starting with 1, in which each element is the sum of the two previous numbers.

Ex: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, etc.

As the Fibonacci sequence develops, the ratio between each number and its neighbor gets closer to 1.618 or φ (phi), the Golden Ratio.

Beauty and the Aging Face

As we age, our faces fall further from the golden ratio. The cheeks sag, resulting in the appearance of jowls. The corners of the mouth move downwards and take on the look of a frown. Tissue in the forehead drifts, creating wrinkles and drooping eyebrows, giving them a flatter appearance. Tissue around the eyes also begins to droop, creating a tired look. The nose may elongate, become more bulbous, or develop a small to pronounced dorsal hump.

The Beauty Equation Lift is the newest treatment out of Dr. Humble’s office. It optimizes the patient’s features in a non-surgical procedure.

Dr. Humble carefully measures the patient’s features and tweaks them to adhere to the golden ratio. This can be done with a combination of treatments that include injectable fillers, neurotoxin fillers and more advanced methods such as platelet rich plasma injections and stem cell segmented fat transfers. All injections can also be used with non-ablative lasers, and resurfacing and radiofrequency treatments to optimize results.
